As a technology leader within Burns & McDonnell, Wes Hardin has utilized his unique blend of entrepreneurial vision, engineering experience, and technical expertise in developing new tools and processes that have revolutionized project and program management for the firm. Wes was convinced there were huge opportunities to rethink and re-engineer the traditional enterprise system in ways that would improve accessibility of project information, convert data to knowledge, and dramatically improve accountability and transparency. Inspired by Google’s mission to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful,” Wes lead a team in developing OneTouchPM®, a unique Google-based project management platform that facilitates intuitive, real-time access to relevant project information via a visual representation of the project geography. OneTouchPM® is now utilized as an essential project management tool used in complex, mega-scale projects totaling over $12 billion. These same concepts were used to create PublicWay™; an intuitive tool that leverages existing systems to provide cities a simple intuitive means for organizing Big Data and making it easily understood and useable for all decision makers and stakeholders.
A lifelong Kansas City, Missouri area resident, Wes is a successful entrepreneur who has started and grown technology companies that have created jobs and opportunities for disadvantaged persons in technology-related fields. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and later earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
