Ted Scott, Chief Innovation Officer, Hamilton Health Sciences

Ted is the inaugural Chief Innovation Officer and Director of Strategy at Hamilton Health Sciences, a role established specifically to bring resources, partnerships and thought leadership to develop new, innovative approaches to the delivery of health care in our community and beyond.

In his role, Ted represents HHS’ innovation agenda and contributes to the development of system-wide health innovation initiatives at several local and regional tables. Most recently, he was appointed lead for the HHS Innovation Exchange, the hospital’s collaborative innovation initiative with IBM Canada. He is also a contributing member to the Synapse Life Sciences Consortium, the regional cluster organization for the Greater Hamilton Area focused on supporting initiatives and projects that magnify the impact of collective action across the cluster ecosystem, and accelerate the commercialization of life science innovation. Regionally, Ted is co-chair of the Innovation Broker Taskforce for the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO), which has been established to pull innovation in to Ontario’s health system.

In recognition of his achievements, Ted has received the Distinguished Fellow- Adjunct Professor award in 2016 from Mohawk College and the Alumni of Distinction Award in 2007. Ted has also been recognized for his excellence in education and industry partnerships by the Hamilton Industry Education Council and his research has been recognized through several awards.

Ted holds a Masters of Applied Science in Medical Ultrasound and a PhD in Diagnostic Imaging from Charles Sturt University of Australia.
