Since September 2009, Steve Jonathan has been a Foreign Exchange and Economics Application Specialist with Bloomberg in New York working with multinational corporations, institutional clients and official institutions. He has spoken at numerous Bloomberg and outside events on trends and developments in the global economy and currency markets. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Mr. Jonathan spent 25 years on the FX sales desks of several New York financial institutions where he advised a wide range of clients active in global financial markets. In these positions, he developed a wide variety of hedging and market positioning strategies with a specific focus on emerging markets. From 1980–1983, he held several positions at Cargill, including in currency risk management for various trading groups. From 1975–1977, he served in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa. Mr. Jonathan earned a bachelor of science in foreign service degree in international politics from Georgetown University.
