In 1987 Rod moved to Yellowknife for a one-year work commitment; more than 27 years later he still lives in the north, currently residing in Whitehorse, Yukon. His work as a Professional Engineer with Stantec has taken him to almost every community in all three of Canada’s territories, as well as numerous locations in northern and eastern Russia.
Rod held various positions with the northern-based firm, FSC Architects & Engineers, serving as its CEO in the year before the firm became part of Stantec in 2011. He is currently responsible for the professional services provided by Stantec’s northern Canadian offices located in Iqaluit, Yellowknife and Whitehorse. From these locations, Stantec offers services in engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, heritage services and traditional knowledge throughout Canada’s territories.
Rod currently volunteers as the vice/incoming President of the Association of Professional Engineers of Yukon and is the Past President of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC)-Yukon.
