Rachael Ritchie, Director, International Partnerships, Genome BC

ritchieDr. Rachael Ritchie, Director of International Partnerships at Genome British Columbia, is an internationally trained scientist with two decades of experience in life science research and innovation. She has worked in America and in Europe, across disciplines and borders, supporting multidisciplinary partnerships bringing discovery research to application.

Prior to joining Genome BC, Rachael was a Policy Analyst in the OECD’s Science Technology Policy Division, working with member states and other stakeholders to develop analytical frameworks to inform science and technology policy. She is the author of the OECD publication Policy Issues for the Development and Use of Biomarkers in Health (2011) which presents several policy options which could foster biomarker research, discovery, development, commercialisation and uptake in clinics.

Since August 2015, Rachael has been leading Genome BC’s collaboration with Genomics England focused on sharing of data and best practices to accelerate the integration of genomics into clinical practice in BC.

Dr. Ritchie is a graduate of University of British Columbia (BSc) and the Oxford (D.Phil) and her experience spans the health, natural resource (aquaculture, fisheries, food) and biotech sectors.
