Philippe Dauphin is Director General of CanmetMATERIALS (CMAT). The laboratory is dedicated to fabricating, processing and evaluating metals and materials. Scientific and technical staff in Hamilton and Calgary research and develop materials solutions for Canadian industry in the energy, transportation and metal-manufacturing sectors.
Philippe joined NRCan in 1992 as the Business Development Coordinator at the CANMETMining (CMIN) laboratory. He has played diverse roles in research management, technology transfer, business development and policy, in the Minerals and Metals and Energy Sectors. Philippe was then appointed Deputy Director General and Acting Director General of the CanmetENERGY where he managed a large clean energy research laboratory.
Philippe graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from Laval University.
