Peter Wallace, City Manager, Toronto

wallacePeter Wallace became City Manager for the City of Toronto in July 2015, with the overall responsibility for more than 30,000 staff, an operating budget of about $12 Billion and a 2015-24 Capital Plan of $32 billion.

Toronto is Canada’s largest city and the 6th largest government Canada-wide.

Peter continues his public service of more than 30 years. Peter became Secretary of the Cabinet, head of the Ontario Public Service and Clerk of the Executive Council in 2011. Peter has held a number of senior executive roles including: Deputy Minister of Finance, Secretary of Treasury Board, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister of Energy. Earlier, he was Deputy Minister and Associate Secretary of the Cabinet with responsibility for Policy in Cabinet Office.

Peter began his public service career in 1981 after completing a BA (Honours) in Political Economy and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Toronto.
