Michael supports Hatch clients around the world pursuing major infrastructure investments and programs. His team develops and evaluates business cases for greenfield (public use) infrastructure, and supports owner’s teams in structuring/negotiating funding, financing, and risk agreements between stakeholders. The Planning & Advisory group also advises governments on the topic of transit oriented development, and advises infrastructure operators on reducing costs, enhancing service, managing assets, and incorporating technological innovations.
Before joining Hatch, Michael was Senior Vice President of Commercial Projects at Infrastructure Ontario. In that role, he was responsible for all commercial transactions related to the financing, development, and divestiture of public assets in Ontario (e.g. land, buildings, services, etc.). His team structured public-private partnerships in connection to critical new infrastructure (e.g. energy, transit, social) and contracted private entities to deliver government services through a range of alternative service delivery (ASD) arrangements. Prior to his time at Infrastructure Ontario, Michael was an Associate Principal with McKinsey & Company, where he was a core leader of the Canadian Public Sector Practice.
