JPPicJP is a Principal with Stantecs Community Development sector based in Toronto having relocated with his family from Vancouver 2 years ago. JP trained as an architect in the UK and has over 23 years of experience in urban design and architectural practice. His valuable expertise in the fields of Commercial, Tourism, Exhibition Design, Residential, Corporate, Heritage and Transit Architecture has taken him to two continents, five countries and numerous cities worldwide. JP has led the development of several million square feet of commercial development including one of the largest privately funded Transit Oriented Developments in North America.

JP’s projects demonstrate his experience in creating innovative community based environments founded around people friendly design. JP’s focus is to match land use with mobility and issues associated with urban intensification, densification, effective mixed-use communities and all forms of the built environment. JP advocates for urban design that creates communities by empowering rather than restricting citizens. He has been a guest speaker at numerous events including the City of Vancouver’s Eco Density Series and at the Planning Institute of B.C.’s AGM on the realities of Transit-Oriented Development.
