As Dean of the Centre for Community Partnership and Experiential Learning, Jim leads Mohawk College’s strategic commitment to postsecondary access, partnership development at the community level, and work integrated and experiential learning.
His responsibilities include the innovative City School initiative which uses place-based approach to bringing postsecondary education to vulnerable communities. He oversees programs and services for newcomers, Employment Ontario initiatives, and School College Work programming such as Dual Credits. Also, Jim is responsible for Mohawk’s libraries and learning commons.
In the community, Jim serves as the Chair of the Hamilton Immigration Partnership Council, is a member of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Syrian Refugees, and is the Co-Chair of the SCWI Golden Horseshoe Regional Planning team.
Jim is a graduate of McMaster University and holds a Master of Education from Brock University.
