Jim Heeter serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. He joined The Chamber staff in April 2010 following a distinguished career as a corporate attorney.
Heeter received his A.B. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1970 and his J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School in 1973. He practiced corporate law for more than 35 years, representing some of Kansas City’s biggest and most successful companies as well as a number of successful start-up ventures and healthcare clients. In 1995 he became a partner with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, LLP (now Dentons) and served as the managing partner of that firm’s Kansas City office and a member of the firm’s executive committee from 2000 until 2010.
In addition, he was “Councilman” Jim Heeter from 1983 – 1987, representing Kansas City, Missouri’s Fourth District At-Large. He has served in a host of other leadership positions in the Kansas City civic, business and philanthropic communities.
