Jean-Pierre Bardet, Dean of the College of Engineering, University of Miami

jean-pierre-bardetJean-Pierre Bardet is the Dean of the College of Engineering, and a Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Miami. He was previously the Dean of the College of Engineering and the Director of the Urban Water Institute at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA).
JP received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology. He has authored and co-authored more than 150 technical publications, and serves on the editorial board of several professional journals. JP is a former recipient of the presidential young investigator award of the National Science Foundation (NSF), and was awarded the Gilbreth Lectureship of the National Academy of Engineering for his post-earthquake surveys worldwide.
Before joining UTA, JP served as Department Chair of the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California. The Sonny Astani department under Bardet’s leadership received a $17 million naming gift, doubled its student enrollment, attained the best ever USNWR ranking, and obtained 10 new faculty members.
