Jamie Katz is a 10 year veteran with Burns & McDonnell, with expertise in information management, GIS, and planning technology used to manage civil engineering projects. He is a project lead and technical expert for engineering projects around the country, such as the Maine Power Reliability Program- a $1.4 billion dollar power transmission project, Kansas City PublicWay®, Kansas Airspace Awareness Tool, and many more . Jamie has worked extensively co-developing OneTouchPM® & PublicWay™ which are unique Google-based project management platform that facilitate intuitive and real-time access to relevant project information via a visual representation of the project geography. These systems are now utilized as essential project management tools used in complex, mega-scale projects totaling over $12 billion. He is passionate about creating intuitive tools that leverage existing systems to provide clients a simple means for organizing data, and making complex information intuitive and useable for all decision makers and stakeholders.
He was recently awarded an Engineering Excellence Honor Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies for the development of a first of its kind web-based tool to aid aviation planners in determining airspace conflicts. A lifelong Kansas City area resident, Jamie is obsessive about innovation and converting data into knowledge. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2001 in Geography. He has a Masters in Science in Business Management, and is currently earning his Masters of Science in Engineering Management.
