Hilary Holden heads up the Transportation Consulting business in Canada for Arup – the global firm of consulting planners, engineers and designers. Based in Toronto, Hilary transferred with Arup (and her husband and son) from England in 2010. Hilary graduated in Geography at the University of Cambridge, followed by a Masters in Transportation Planning at the Institute for Transport Studies at Leeds University, the largest centre for transportation teaching and research in Europe.
With her fresh and global perspective, Hilary is hired to link transportation investment to economic, business, social and environmental goals. She seeks to create workable solutions for public and private clients who are responsible for regions, cities, sites, hubs and/or corridors.
For 15 years she’s led or contributed to multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that design excellence is perceived, planned and progressed. As part of a team led by Cushman & Wakefield, she is currently working for the Region of Waterloo progressing the multi-modal hub in downtown Kitchener at the GO station on the northeast corner of the King Street and Victoria Street intersection.
