David Oelke, Head of Treasury, China Construction Bank

bio-pic-D-OelkeDavid Oelke was appointed Head of Treasury at China Construction Bank, Toronto Branch, in September 2014. China Construction Bank is the first Chinese Bank Branch in Canada, officially launched in December 2014.

He is responsible for all FX, Money Market activity and Treasury Risk Management for the Branch’s operations in Canada. David was the Night Desk Manager for BMO Harris in Chicago, from 1997-2006 responsible for the Banks FX trading and sales in the Asian and European time zones. Prior to joining BMO, David was Treasurer for Credit Suisse Canada. He started his career with TD Securities, having Treasury management roles in their trading centers in Vancouver, Calgary, Hong Kong and Tokyo. He was elevated to the Chief Dealer position for global Canadian dollar trading in Toronto in 1995.

He is a member of the TFSA RMB Working Group, assisting with the formation and marketing of the RMB Clearing Hub for the America’s in Toronto.

David graduated from Sheridan College in Oakville with a double major in accounting and finance.
