David Fransen, Ph.D., is chair of the 2015 Waterloo Innovation Summit, currently in co-development with the University of Waterloo and Communitech, in Kitchener, Ontario.
David is co-founder of Falcon6, an LA-based tactical business consultancy, and serves also as senior advisor to the CEO of American Financial Network and as senior advisor to the president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo.
Fransen’s public policy experience includes executive leadership roles with Industry Canada and Health Canada, among other key federal portfolios. In 1999 he served as director general for Healthy Human Development at Health Canada, where he helped establish the provincial-federal agreement on early childhood development. In 2004-05, Fransen served as the Secretary of the Minister of Industry’s Expert Panel on Commercialization chaired by Joseph Rotman. During those same years, he also served as the Director of Investment Canada.”
Dr. Fransen served with distinction as Canada’s Consul General in Los Angeles, making him Canada’s senior representative for southern California and the states of Arizona and Nevada. David retired from his career in public service in April, 2014.
