Dan McGillivray, Executive Director, Centre for Urban Energy, Ryerson

mcgillivrayDr. Dan McGillivray is currently an Associate Member of the Yates School of Graduate Studies at Ryerson University where he teaches Energy Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Responding to Climate Change. He joined Ryerson’s Centre for Urban Energy (CUE) in August 2011 as the Toronto Hydro Distinguished Fellow and on August 1st, 2012, he was appointed Executive Director of that Centre. Having completed his term at CUE, Dan was appointed Distinguished Visiting Professor in Ryerson’s Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science. In this role Dan is responsible developing strategic partner networks with the Faculty. He serves on the Advisory Board of the new Centre for Engineering and Entrepreneurship and teaches in the Masters Program offered through that centre. He also co-chairs the Norman Esch Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship Awards Committee. Prior to joining Ryerson, Dan held the position of Managing Director of two centres at the Ontario Centres of Excellence – the Centre for Energy and the Centre for Earth and Environmental Technologies.
