Bryan Osmar is Managing Director and Head, Market Infrastructure, RBC Capital Markets. His responsibilities also include leading RBC through the regulatory and industry reforms currently impacting the OTC derivatives area.
Holding a B.A. (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario and a M.A. (Economics) from Queen’s University, Bryan joined RBC’s International Money Markets group in Toronto in 1980, subsequently holding various positions in the Treasury and Capital Markets areas.
From 1989-1994 Bryan was based in New York with responsibility for oversight of RBC’s foreign exchange, money market and derivatives trading in the U.S.A. From 1994 until 1997, based in Toronto, he headed North American money market trading, marketing, funding and liquidity management. From 1997 to 2011, Bryan was in a senior management role overseeing market and trading credit risk in RBC Capital Markets.
Bryan is on the boards of the Investment Industry Association of Canada, CLS Group Holdings AG and CLS Bank International.
