Adam Chamberlain is a partner with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and National Leader of the firm’s Aboriginal practice as well as its northern practice group, Team North. Adam is called to the Bar in Nunavut and Ontario and is a Certified Specialist in the area of Environmental Law.
As the Leader of Team North, Adam is active in firm initiatives involving Canada’s Arctic. Adam is particularly interested in environmental and regulatory matters and speaks and writes frequently on environmental assessment and related northern issues.
Adam’s Aboriginal and environmental practice brings him to Canada’s arctic regularly. He recently he assisted the Government of Nunavut with the EA processes for the Mary River Iron Mine and also Dominion Diamond (then Harry Winston) in its purchase of the Ekati diamond mine in the Northwest Territories.
Adam sits on the Board of Directors of several organizations active in Canada’s arctic including the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation and the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines. He is especially proud of his work with Camp Awakening, a charity that sends children with physical disabilities to summer camp in a setting that integrates them with able bodied children.
